How to take care of your nails

It’s not always easy to have pretty nails! Damaged by everyday stains or by habits that aren’t always suitable, nails can quickly become damaged and become brittle, ridged, split, or even, in the most extreme cases, suffer from minor infections (fungal infections, whitlows, etc.). Today, we’ll explain how to avoid all these problems, and we’ll give you our best tips and tricks for keeping your nails beautiful and healthy day after day.

Caring for your nails every day

Clean your nails well.

On a daily basis, all you need is a little soap and water to clean your nails properly. If you have long or particularly dirty nails, careful cleaning is essential, even if you have to use a brush to remove any dust and impurities that may be lodged there.

Cut and file your nail.s

Are your nails too long, or has a nail broken and you want to fix it? Be careful with nail clippers: the gesture is not always precise, and if the tool is poorly oriented, it could cut your nails a little too short. It’s best to use baby scissors for both fingernails and toenails: with their round tip, they allow you to cut nails without injury, and to give them exactly the desired shape.

If you simply want to even out their length or give them a nice shape, a file is perfect for this. How to choose the right one? If you prefer a metal file, make sure you use a quality tool. Some files have claws that are too wide apart or not deep enough, or they catch a little too much, which can weaken the nail. A cardboard file will be less traumatic than its metal version, but also less durable. A glass file can be a good compromise between durability and efficiency, even if some people don’t always appreciate its texture. In any case, remember not to use back-and-forth movements (which will weaken the nail) but to always file in the same direction.

Moisturize your nails and their surroundings.

As for the cuticles, you can push thembackk, and possibly remove any excess skin, but be careful not to cut them or push them back too much (by peeling them off) or you risk infection. How to do this? The best tip is to soak your fingers in water for a few minutes to soften the cuticle skin and then push them back more easily. To get rid of stubborn or dry skin, it is best to use a natural treatment, such as one of our 4 treatments designed to address all issues.

The range includes Kerato-Smoothing Treatment, for thick, ridged or split nails, Purifying Treatment for yellowed or weakened nails due to fungus , and Soothing Treatment, for irritated and damaged nail contours.

Equipped with a brush tip, these treatments are easy to apply and dose. They have all been formulated from Black Propolis from the Cévennes, an active ingredient with exceptional antioxidant power that acts on all nail damage and protects it for beautiful, strong,a nd healthy nails. Smart and natural products, to be applied every evening with a light massage!

Avoid some bad habits

ODaily you can adopt a few simple actions and good habits to protect your nails, such as:

  • If you’re a nail biter, stopping your nail biting is probably THE bad beauty habit you need to break right away. Aside from the aesthetics, it can cause irritation and minor injuries around the nail. The risk? Infections  such  as fungal infections, whitlows, or toenails can develop, which can be painful and require specific treatment.
  • Avoid using your  nails  as tools, for example, by forcing open a box, using them to scratch something… all these seemingly harmless gestures can weaken and damage them. Wear gloves when handling household products, to avoid them coming into contact with detergents that could damage them.
  • Wear nail pol all the time. Yes, colorful nails are pretty. But nail polish prevents your nails from breathing, and can cause them to split, become more brittle, and become ridged—even more so if you’ve opted for semi-permanent nail polish, which will stay in place for   o to three weeks. It’s best to space out nail polish applications and give your nails some time to regenerate.

How to succeed in your manicure

Have you decided to treat yourself to a manicure? Whether at a beauty salon or home, there are a few steps you should follow to achieve a successful result.

  • Start by trimming and cleaning your nails if necessary.
  • Before applying a varnish, apply a base coat – also called  a base coat , it is a sort of transparent layer which will  protect the nail and prevent the color of your varnish from yellowing the nail.
  • Then apply your favorite nail polish – avoiding overly chemical nail polishes if possible and choosing those with a maximum of natural ingredients, which will have less impact on your health…and that of your nails.
  • Finish with a  top coat , that is to say a transparent finishing varnish which will add shine, fix the  color  and make  your manicure  or trendy nail art last longer.
  • After a few minutes, once the different layers are completely dry, treat yourself to a  h d treatment  by pplying a moisturizing cream, to ekeepyour skin supple and well-nourished and avoid problems with chapping, cracks and d,ry skin.
  • Apply an ace nail polish remover  (unless you’ve applied semi-permanent nail polish), with as many natural ingredients as possible. For example, a nail polish remover enriched wit  vita ns and astor oil, sweet almond oil, etc., that won’t irritate your fingers during removal.

Now you know all the tips for caring for your nails at home and showing off beautiful hands in all circumstances!
